چکیده
Background: TB lymphadenitis is still a problem that needs serious treatment. In Indonesia, it was reported 53% of cases were extrapulmonary tuberculosis, with the most being Lymphadenitis TB, 11.6%. children, 43% tuberculosis are lymphadenitis. Diagnosis quite difficult; method determining diagnosis and appropriate comprehensive treatment required in managing Lymphadenitis. Materials Methods: this study, 15 fine needle aspiration biopsy aspirate samples subjected to molecular examination using gyrB–polymerase chain reaction histopathological observations smear hematoxylin-eosin staining. Observation preparations microscope magnification 200x. Results: The characteristics showed positive results 4 out samples, epithelioid cells arranged characteristic granuloma structure, necrotic debris visible, joined together form multinucleated giant as an inflammatory response Mycobacterium tuberculosiscomplex infection. 6 (40%) detected be based on detection specific target gene gyrB - polymerase reaction. Conclusion: Characteristic features associated can used determinant tuberculous

EVALUATION OF DIRECT MICROSCOPY, CULTURE, AND POLYMERASE CHAIN REACTION FOR THE DIAGNOSIS OF TUBERCULOUS MENINGITIS
In view of the importance of early diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis (TBM), the efficiency of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR), one of the most reliable and sensitive DNA-based assays, was compared with conventional methods (acid-fast microscopy and culture) for the detection of M. tuberculosis in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) specimens from patients suspected of TBM. Of the 29 CSF specim...
متن کاملPolymerase Chain Reaction for the Diagnosis of Tuberculosis
Dear Editor-in-Chief We read with interest the study by Khazaei et al. (1) in which the authors have nicely concluded that PCR is more sensitive test than Ziehl-Neelsen staining and histo-pathological examination for the diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB). They have rightly pointed to use PCR, selectively, in acidfast bacilli negative paucibacillary forms of TB. However, we intend to highlight few...
متن کاملEvaluation of Polymerase Chain Reaction for Diagnosis of “Tuberculous Pleurisy”
BACKGROUND Differential diagnosis between tuberculous pleurisy (TBP) and non- tuberculosis pleural effusion represents a critically important clinical problem. In recent years, several noninvasive methods have been found for diagnosis of tuberculous pleurisy. This study aimed to evaluate the value of detection of the genome of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) ...

متن کاملPeripancreatic Tuberculous Lymphadenitis Diagnosed via Endoscopic Ultrasound-guided Fine-needle Aspiration and Polymerase Chain Reaction
We performed endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) on a patient presenting with an asymptomatic peripancreatic mass-like lesion. The aspiration cytologic finding was class II. On positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT), there were hot spots in the left supra-clavicular lymph node and the peripancreatic lesion. A whole biopsy of the left supra-clavicular...
